SBI in Amaravati: the Local Head Office project and the staff-housing tender
SBI has confirmed that the foundation for its new Amaravati Local Head Office was laid. A newer tender is for staff housing. These are two separate parts of the bank’s plans.

What SBI has confirmed
SBI’s own announcement says the foundation for its new Local Head Office was laid on 28 November 2025. This comes directly from the bank.
LHO stands for Local Head Office. It runs the bank’s work in one circle, which is a region. It does not mean SBI’s national headquarters is moving to Amaravati.
The September 2026 staff-housing tender
The quarters are for officers in the TEGS and SMGS grades, the senior management grades named in the notice. Do not read this tender’s deadline as the date the LHO will be finished.

Staff housing at Inavolu
On 21 August 2026 SBI and APCRDA signed an agreement for ₹214 crore of staff housing on 2.05 acres at Inavolu (Ainavolu). The report says construction is to start in June 2027. The agreement is on record. The start date is a plan.
The September consultancy tender above is the next step on the same housing. Neither one tells you when the Local Head Office building will open.
An “Amaravati circle” address does not mean SBI has moved
When we checked, SBI’s contact directory still listed the LHO for the Andhra Pradesh / Amaravati circle at Hybank Towers, Gunfoundry, Hyderabad. The circle’s name only describes the area it manages.
Use SBI’s current contact directory before you visit. We do not publish a new customer address for a building whose opening we have not been able to confirm.
How to follow the project
- Make sure the notice is for Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh.
- See whether it covers offices, staff quarters or a consultant.
- Read any corrigendum along with the original tender.
- Look for a named contractor and a dated construction update.
- Wait for an official opening or relocation notice to confirm the new address.
