Velagapudi at a glance
In the 13th century the Kakatiya king Ganapati Deva gave Velagapudi and Mandadam to the spiritual teacher of the Golaki Matham. The inscription that records the gift stands in Mandadam. Today ministers, Secretariat staff and everyone with business at the state government come to Velagapudi every working day.
