The Errupalem–Amaravati–Nambur railway line: 57 km and a 3.2 km Krishna bridge
Amaravati has no railway station of its own. This line fixes that by joining the Kazipet–Vijayawada line at Errupalem to the Guntur–Krishna Canal line at Nambur, through the capital.

Route and stations
The line starts at Errupalem in Telangana on the Kazipet–Vijayawada section, crosses the Krishna on a 3.2 km bridge and runs through the capital to Namburu on the Guntur–Krishna Canal section, giving a bypass for Vijayawada Junction. Proposed stations: Errupalem, Peddapuram, Chennaravupalem, Gottimukala, Paritala, Kothapeta, Vaddamanu, Amaravati, Tadikonda and Koppuravuru before Namburu. The Amaravati station and the track alignment are among the stated purposes of the Phase 2 land pooling in Vaddamanu, Harischandrapuram and Pedaparimi.
Cost and status
- Sanctioned in 2017-18; land acquisition notification issued 18 June 2024; Union Cabinet approval in October 2024 at ₹2,245 crore (later reports say ₹2,047 crore).
- In August 2026 railway authorities began acquiring about 300 acres across eight villages in NTR district with the state revenue machinery; tenders were expected to follow.
- The line will be operated by the South Coast Railway zone.

Does Amaravati have a railway station?
Not yet. The nearest stations are Krishna Canal Junction at Tadepalli, Guntur and Vijayawada. The Errupalem–Amaravati–Nambur line will add an Amaravati station and a Vaddamanu station.
