Government housing in Amaravati: the towers for legislators, officers and employees
The half-finished towers you see from the Seed Access Road are these. They were the most visible victims of the 2019 pause, and they are among the first buildings now being finished.

Why it matters to everyone else
When several thousand government families live in the capital instead of driving in from Vijayawada and Guntur, the interim complex starts to become a town. Schools, clinics, shops and demand for rented homes follow. The projects launched on 2 May 2025 included housing for 5,200 families.
