What is being installed
The machine is an IBM Quantum System Two built around a 156-qubit Heron processor, the same generation IBM runs in its own data centres. IBM supplies the hardware, Tata Consultancy Services builds algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical applications, and Larsen & Toubro is the park's infrastructure partner. The announcement on 2 May 2025 framed the machine as the anchor of India's first dedicated quantum tech park, aligned with the National Quantum Mission.

Why it matters for the capital
Quantum Valley is the first tenant that gives the Electronics and Knowledge city themes a real address. The state expects the park to attract about $1 billion in investment, and the Amaravati Government Complex review in February 2026 listed the quantum building alongside the High Court and Assembly as a priority. For landowners near the site the relevant fact is simpler: a large employer with an international brand is committing to the capital before the roads are finished.
Questions people ask
When will the Amaravati quantum computer start working?
