Trunk roads: the E and N grid that gives every layout an address
The city is a grid. East-west roads carry E numbers and north-south roads carry N numbers, and a returnable plot's value depends on which of them is finished nearby.

The programme
APCRDA's trunk infrastructure tenders cover roads together with stormwater drains, water supply, sewerage, utility ducts, reuse-water lines, footpaths, cycle tracks, avenue plantation and street furniture; the packages were estimated at ₹4,313.78 crore. The December 2024 sanction of ₹11,467 crore included ₹2,498 crore for main roads linking to the Chennai–Kolkata highway, naming E-5, E-7, E-9, E-11 and E-15, plus the E-8 road at ₹522.92 crore and N-11 at ₹419.85 crore. APCRDA's 2017 plan listed 115 km of key roads and N4, N9, N14, N16, E6, E8, E10, E12 and E14 among the early corridors.
Deadline
The February 2026 announcement that set the IRR on a PPP path also fixed April 2027 for trunk road completion. The Chief Minister's April 2026 review ordered weekly and monthly targets and pre-monsoon completion of scheduled stretches. Watch the E and N road nearest your plot rather than the citywide figure.
