The 2011 census recorded 2,716 residents (1,347 men, 1,369 women) and a literacy rate of 59.89%. Archaeologists know the village for something older: excavations found pillars, railings and coping from a stupa and vihara, coins of the Sada dynasty, and inscriptions placing a Jain centre here between the 3rd century BCE and the 6th century CE.
What is here
- A proposed station on the Errupalem–Amaravati–Nambur railway line, one of only two inside the capital area along with Amaravati itself.
- Jain stupa and vihara remains, with two ellipsoidal structures compared to the Udayagiri and Khandagiri caves.
- Part of the Guntur-district trio (with Harischandrapuram and Pedaparimi) supplying about 2,500 acres for the Sports City, railway and Inner Ring Road.

Before you buy in Vaddamanu
- The railway station is the single most valuable fact about Vaddamanu, and also the least fixed: the line is in land acquisition in NTR district and the station site has not been notified.
- Archaeological remains can trigger protected-area rules; check whether a parcel is near the excavated mounds.
