Amaravati drainage works on the Kondaveeti Vagu and Pala Vagu
Two streams, the Kondaveeti Vagu and the Pala Vagu, carry rainwater through the capital. The state is widening their channels and building reservoirs and pumps around them. This page covers those works and what they mean for a plot.

How the water system fits together
The Kondaveeti Vagu and the Pala Vagu are part of the city's water network. Channel works, reservoirs, pumps and the stormwater drains in each layout all connect to each other. When one part is finished, it does not mean every layout's drainage is finished.
Reported milestones
- The December 2024 infrastructure programme included ₹1,585.95 crore for reservoirs and channel works.
- Reports from June 2026 describe work going on along both streams, including channel improvements around the capital.
Checking one layout
Read the approved drainage drawing along with the plot layout. Confirm the road levels, the drain connections and the services that are finished with APCRDA. Progress across the city and the condition of one plot are two different things, so check them separately.
