APGB and APCOB: two different banks and their Amaravati head-office plans
APGB and APCOB are two different institutions. Both are part of Amaravati’s announced office programme. Their names, their current premises and the evidence for each project need to be kept apart.

Two institutions, two roles
| Name | Full name | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| APGB | Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank | Regional rural bank sponsored by Union Bank of India. |
| APCOB | Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank | The state’s cooperative bank. |
APGB: the bank today and its future premises
APGB’s official introduction says the bank was formed on 1 May 2025 by combining four regional rural banks. It gives Guntur as its current head office and Union Bank of India as its sponsor.
The four earlier banks were Chaitanya Godavari Grameena Bank, Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank, Saptagiri Grameena Bank and Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank. For current services, follow the new bank’s official guidance.
The Amaravati programme includes an APGB office project. Do not confuse that project with the current office in Guntur.
A recent Guntur notice, read correctly
APGB’s tender register has an entry dated 30 September 2026 for interiors of the chairman’s cabin and board room at proposed head-office premises in Vidya Nagar, Guntur.
This is useful, current evidence about APGB’s offices. But it is in Guntur. It does not show that the new Amaravati campus is finished.
APCOB: foundation of a new head office
Indian Cooperative reported on 1 December 2025 that the foundation for APCOB’s new head office had been laid in Amaravati the week before.
That confirms the foundation was laid. We did not find a verified opening date or a figure for how much is built.
For farmers, societies and local businesses
Use the correct name when you ask about a service. APGB and APCOB are not two spellings of the same bank.
For a cooperative society matter, find out which society and which district cooperative bank are involved. For an APGB account, follow APGB’s official branch and merger instructions.
More bank offices in the capital can help local people and businesses. But a new office does not change an existing loan agreement, and it does not give anyone an automatic right to credit.
