Nowluru is by far the most populous place in the capital city, with 24,861 residents at the 2011 census, because it was an outgrowth of Mangalagiri municipality before being merged into the capital's urban area. Its hamlets Yerrabalem and Bethapudi are counted among the 29 Phase 1 habitations.
